Open Rehearsals

Victoria Symphony invites middle and high school classes to a rehearsal at the University of Victoria to give students a behind the scenes look at how a professional orchestra rehearses and hear the full orchestra up-close.  During the break, students will have a chance to meet some of the musicians of the orchestra for a Q & A.

Check out the remaining 2023/24 Season Open Rehearsal dates below! The 2024/25 Season Open Rehearsal dates will be announced in fall 2024.

  • Not all the pieces listed are rehearsed at every rehearsal. We can confirm the rehearsal order one month in advance. If you’d like to hear a specific piece on the program, requests can sometimes be made.
  • If the class cannot stay for the whole rehearsal, it is possible to leave during the break, at approx. 90 minutes into the rehearsal.
  • COST: The suggested donation for attendance is $2.00 per student, and you may reserve a maximum of 125 seats. We understand that not all schools are in a financial position to contribute at this level.
