
Juliane Gallant, conductor
New Brunswick–born conductor Juliane Gallant is Resident Conductor and Artistic Advisor, Pops, of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. A dynamic and versatile artist, she has collaborated with a wide range of performers including Steven Page, The Tenors, Chantal Kreviazuk, Kiesza, Serena Ryder, and Brett Kissel. She has appeared as a guest conductor with the Boston Pops, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, and orchestras across Canada.
A passionate collaborator, Gallant began her career as a pianist, répétiteur, and vocal coach before moving into conducting. She established a strong presence in opera in the UK, leading productions with companies including Gothic Opera, Hampstead Garden Opera, and Opera Upclose. In 2021, she made her Royal Opera House debut conducting Mami Wata in collaboration with Pegasus Opera. In Canada, she has served as Music Director for Eugene Onegin at Highlands Opera Studio and conducted Nicole Lizée’s R.U.R. A Torrent of Light with Tapestry Opera. She made her United States debut in 2025 with Opera Saratoga.
Gallant is a graduate of the National Opera Studio, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and leading Canadian institutions. She was a conducting fellow with Tapestry Opera’s Women in Musical Leadership program and has received support from the Royal Opera House, Canada Council for the Arts, and other major arts organizations.
