Conductor Michael Gormley leads the Victoria Symphony through a concert dedicated to Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Incorporating melodies of the folk music from his native Bohemia, Dvořák’s work reflects his love for his native land in the characteristic rhythms of his Slavonic Dances. His “New World” Symphony, also on the program, is his most popular symphony. The famous English horn melody that became known as “Going Home” is just one of the many beloved melodies of this symphony.
Tickets for this concert are $20 and are available through the Victoria Symphony Box Office or at Christ Church Cathedral. Please call 250.385.6515 for details.
