VS lights up the Royal Theatre with some of the best and brightest hits of Broadway from The Sound of Music, Les Misérables, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera, and more! Alongside overtures and much-loved medleys from classic shows and contemporary hits, we welcome vocalist Melissa Errico. With her silken voice and dramatic, expressive intensity, the Tony nominee has been featured in My Fair Lady, Camelot, Les Misérables, Amour, etc., and she has also earned accolades as an actress, concert, cabaret, and recording artist.

Sean O’Loughlin, conductor

Sean O’Loughlin (b.1972) is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Victoria Symphony and the Principal Pops Conductor of the Syracuse Symphony. His diverse background includes collaborations with some of the leading symphonies and popular artists of today. As a conductor, he has led performances with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the Vancouver Symphony and the San Diego Symphony amongst others. He has served as conductor for symphony tours with Josh Groban, Sarah McLachlan, The Decemberists and the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration. He has appeared on Good Morning America and the PBS Special “Stages” with Josh Groban in addition to NBC’s “A Very Pentatonix Christmas.”

Recent collaborations include such artists as Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, Journey, a-ha, Jason Mraz, The Beach Boys, Sarah McLachlan, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Pentatonix, Kelly Clarkson, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Blue Man Group, Janelle Monáe, Audra McDonald, Hall and Oates, the Indigo Girls, The Go-Go’s, Bonnie Raitt, Pink Martini, Brandi Carlile, Weird Al Yankovic, Melissa Etheridge and others. Through his growing number of commissioned and published works, Sean is excited to continue contributing to the rich history of orchestral and wind band literature. His music is published by Excelcia Music, Hal Leonard and Carl Fischer. An annual ASCAP Special Awards winner, Sean was a composition fellow at the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles, and holds composition degrees from New England Conservatory and Syracuse University.

Melissa Errico, vocalist

Melissa Errico is a Tony Award-nominated Broadway star — singer, actress, writer, and recording artist— who has become one of the most acclaimed concert and cabaret singers of our time. At her recent Carnegie Hall debut with The New York Pops, conductor Steven Reineke introduced her as “a unique force in the musical life of New York City. There’s really no one like her!” and The Wall Street Journal called her “incomparable.” Her starring roles on Broadway, include: My Fair Lady, High Society, Anna Karenina, White Christmas, Dracula, Les Misérables, and Amour written by multi-Oscar-winning composer Michel Legrand.

Melissa has acted in TV/movies such as “Billions” (Showtime), the film “Frequency,” and much more. She has starred in many non-musical roles by Shaw and Oscar Wilde. A constant in the New York theater, she has become equally known for her music and her 2018 album, Sondheim Sublime, called by The Wall Street Journal “The best all-Sondheim album ever recorded,” as well as her recording made with Michel Legrand, led to concerts worldwide.

As a standout writer, Melissa pens a column called ‘Scenes From An Acting Life’ in The New York Times. Errico’s history with Sondheim began when he selected her to star as Dot in Sunday In The Park With George at The Kennedy Center, Clara in Passion at CSC; and the NY City Center Encores! production of Do I Hear A Waltz? where she also starred to great acclaim in musicals by Kurt Weill and Irving Berlin.

Her new album: Sondheim In The City — released on Feb 16, 2024 on Concord Records— was called “a New York house tour of thrill and heart break” (New York Times) and “a major achievement” (The Wall Street Journal). She is the mother of three daughters and married to professional tennis player & journalist Patrick McEnroe.

Andy Ezrin, piano

Andy Ezrin is a jazz pianist and composer who has been living and working in New York City and touring the world for the past 25 years.

Ezrin was born and raised in the Boston area and began playing the piano at the age of ten. By age twelve, he was playing professionally. He studied at classical piano at the Boston University School of Fine Arts, the Tanglewood Institute, Oberlin College Conservatory, and received his BA at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where he studied jazz improvisation.

Andy has performed extensively around the world, including recording and touring since 1989 with the Grammy award winning vocal jazz group New York Voices where he has performed at major jazz festivals worldwide including Montreaux, North Sea, Montreal as well as Live Under The Sky in Japan. He has also performed numerous times at Carnegie Hall (once as featured soloist with New York Voices and the Count Basie Orchestra), Lincoln Center, Boston Symphony Hall (with the Boston Pops), The Hollywood Bowl, and at the United Nations. He has toured and recorded as keyboardist with artists Chris Botti, Joe Jackson, Christopher Cross and Rickee Lee Jones. Andy has also recently performed with U2’s Bono and Edge, Sting, James Taylor, Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Neyo, Miley Cyrus, Carly-Rae Jepsen, Cyndi Lauper, Chaka Khan, Michael Bublé, Van Morrison, Patti Austin, Diane Shuur, Yo Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, and Dr. John.

Abby Corpus, guest vocalist

Canadian soprano, actor, and storyteller Abby Corpus (she/her), is located on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, also known as Victoria BC. Abby is particularly passionate about music as a means of creating human connection, with special interest in the ways in which musicians and audiences of today can connect with stories of the past through shared experiences. She has been a part of the Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus since 2022, and has trained at several programs including the Victoria Conservatory of Music, University of Victoria, NUOVA Vocal Arts, and Halifax Summer Opera Festival. Abby looks forward to appearing in November 2024 as Johanna Barker in “Sweeney Todd,”  produced by Victoria On Stage Musical Theatre. In addition to her work as a performer, Abby works regularly as a Voice Teacher at Long & McQuade Music, a Teaching Artist at Kaleidoscope Theatre, and a Character Performer at Island Princess Parties. She is dedicated to inspiring creativity for young people and helping young creatives find their voice.
