Instrument Clinicians/Workshops

A Victoria Symphony musician will visit a strings or band class, and teach a customized class for students on their instrument. The musician will guide students on instrumental technique, sound production, musical expression, and how to work as an ensemble. Sessions on specific instruments and topics can be requested. Sessions may be one clinician working with a specific instrument group, or a number of clinicians working together with a whole class or in sectionals. The visiting musician can also give demonstrations and talk about music as a profession.

“It’s been amazing to have players from the Victoria Symphony come into our schools to work with our young musicians. It’s an invaluable opportunity for our students to listen, learn, and get feedback from experts. Weeks later, we still refer to concepts we worked on with Brian and Kay. Without fail, the kids always bring up how amazed they were by their playing.” – Fraser Gibson, Strings & Music Teacher, School District 61
