Victoria Symphony Announces 2024/25 Season
Upcoming season boasts stellar lineup of guest soloists including Yo-Yo Ma and Angela Hewitt. Plus, two Films in Concert, local collaborations, and renowned Canadian artists.
Victoria B.C. – The Victoria Symphony (VS) is delighted to announce its 2024/25 Season, running from September 15, 2024 to May 11, 2025 and featuring 30 extraordinary concert programs around Southern Vancouver Island.
Season highlights include world-renowned cellist and humanitarian Yo-Yo Ma, beloved Canadian pianists Angela Hewitt and Jon Kimura Parker, two Victoria-born artists – violinist Timothy Chooi and tenor Josh Lovell – audience favourite The Canadian Brass, CBC’s hit drama series Murdoch Mysteries in Concert, and two feature length Films in Concert: Home Alone and The Princess Bride.
“It is not by chance that the orchestra is reaching new artistic heights while our programming and audience expand,” says VS CEO Matthew White. He adds, “This ambitious 2024/25 Season continues our upward trajectory and trusts in the hope of capturing still more people’s imaginations with the excellence of our orchestra and the right balance in programming.”
2024/25 marks Christian Kluxen’s eighth season as VS Music Director. Maestro Kluxen was also recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland. He invites VS audiences this season to take delight in “expecting the unexpected” and to be open to the response that orchestral music, across all genres, can evoke.
Season Subscriptions are now on sale. 2024/25 Season Subscriptions invite you to compose your own musical journey by choosing five or more concerts for savings of 25%. This simple format allows audiences to experience the full range of musical offerings and a variety of venues.
Season Subscribers also receive first access to Special concerts, including Yo-Yo Ma in Concert.

Single tickets for the 2024/25 Season will go on sale to subscribers July 23 and to the general public on July 30, 2024.
