DESCRIPTION:Everyone’s invited to the unicorn’s birthday party! Meet musical penguins\, monkeys\, ducks\, and other whimsical creatures in this interactive concert for young families and sensory-friendly audiences. Composer Bob Singleton—best known for his decade as music director of Barney & Friends—created The Unicorn’s Birthday for the Dallas Symphony\, co-commissioned by orchestras across North America. A joyful introduction to the orchestra for all ages. \nNot included in subscription purchase discount.  Tickets available to purchase through the UVic Ticket Centre starting Tuesday\, July 21\, 2026. \nJoin us at 2:00 pm in the lobby for our Instrument Petting Zoo! The Instrument Petting Zoo offers young people of all ages the chance to try out real musical instruments in a relaxed\, fun environment. It’s a hands-on way to spark a child’s interest in music and explore a variety of sounds and styles. \nOur friendly student volunteers will be on hand to guide children on how to properly hold\, blow\, or bow each instrument—no experience necessary!
