COVID and Safety Protocols

A Message from Farquhar at UVic about what to expect at concerts:

In compliance with the PHO effective September 13, 2021 all patrons (12+ years) need to be prepared to show your proof of vaccination status when entering the venue. Proof of vaccination must be accompanied by government-issued photo id. Failure to provide the required documentation will result in you being refused entry to the auditorium.

Before entering the auditorium we ask all ticket holders to have the following ready to present:

  1. BC Vaccine Card
  2. Valid government photo ID

Once your vaccine card has been checked you will asked to present your ticket(s).  Please enter the auditorium and sit in your assigned seat.  Moving seats is strictly prohibited.

In accordance with province-wide restrictions masks are required in all public indoor settings. 

From September 13 to October 23, 2021 you only need to provide proof that you are partially vaccinated with one dose. Beginning Oct 24, 2021 you will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated with two doses. To give everyone time to get their BC Vaccine Card, up to and including September 26, you can show other forms of proof of vaccination:

QR codes can be shown on a smart device or a printed out.

The Farquhar at UVic, Christ Church Cathedral, and the Royal Theatre all strictly adhere to current Provincial Health Orders (PHO). Enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures will be in place in all three venues. Should Victoria Symphony concerts be cancelled as a result of PHOs changing, patrons will receive a full refund.

All patrons are required to wear a mask in concerts venues. Should the mask mandate be lifted, we will continue to recommend wearing a mask for indoor common areas. We also ask that you maintain physical distance between parties and do your best to exit promptly at the end of concerts. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend a concert. Refunds wil be offered (minus the transaction fee) for cancellations due to health concerns.

VS fully supports the recently announced provincial health order requiring all individuals to provide proof of vaccination to attend indoor concerts. As of September 13th, one dose of vaccine will be required for entry, by October 24th, two doses will be compulsory.

The Farquhar Auditorium is following all UVic and Provincial Health Orders.

From September 13th proof of vaccination will be required from all ticket holders

  • As of Sept. 13, people in British Columbia will be required to be partially vaccinated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to access certain businesses and events.
  • As of Oct. 24, people in British Columbia will be required to be fully immunized, at least seven days after receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, to access the same list of businesses and events.

The Farquhar Auditorium is following all UVic and Provincial Health Orders.

In accordance with the new province-wide restrictions , as of August 25 everyone must wear a mask at all times in public indoor settings and indoor common areas.

Currently the Farquhar Auditorium uses socially distancing guidelines during the sale process.  Seats beside, in front and behind you will be blocked from sale.  This may affect overall availability and seat selection.

As we follow the Provincial Health Orders and the UVic Restart plan capacity may be increased for selected concerts.  This might result in seats held around your tickets being sold.

Refund Policy

We are happy to offer a refund (minus the one time order fee) to anyone who is unable to attend an event.

If the event is cancelled by the organisers or due to provincial health orders a full refund including order fee will be issued.

Christ Church Cathedral

In keeping with the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia’s current health guidelines, we kindly ask you to observe the following protocols during your visit to the cathedral today:
* Please wear a mask at all times when inside the building.
* Please maintain 2 metres distance between parties when seated or when walking to your seat.
* Please do your best to exit promptly after the end of the concert; socializing between parties is not permitted inside at this time.

Royal Theatre
The RMTS Team continues to prepare for when we are able to gather once again to experience unforgettable arts and entertainment. We are working towards re-opening in the fall depending on Public Health guidelines.

At this time, we are awaiting guidance from the BC Provincial Health Office regarding vaccination requirements and/or vaccine passports. Any change to our existing Public Health Information will be communicated to ticket buyers.
